So welcome in

Whilst the opening to ‘Waving Flags’ by British Sea Power originally was created as an auspicious, warm greeting to our Eastern European neighbours in response to the relaxing of EU-migrating restrictions, the esoteric six-piece from Brighton would no doubt be happy to have it re-appropriated to the introduction of their new club night.

The legendary Club Sea Power was launched in 2001 prior to BSP-fame, and gained a reputation in the area for a wild night out whilst also bolstering their formidable foliage-inspired live show. The blurb promises “Fully stocked beer bar, cats listening to Mastodon in wheelie bin.” Oh yea.

Ten years on and BSP are launching a new regular club night titled ‘Krankenhaus’ (after their EP of the same name) on the first Friday of every month in the new year. The first such one will be as follows:

Friday 6th Jan, 7.30pm-3am

The Haunt, 10 Pool Valley (by the coach station), Brighton BN1 1NJ

British Sea Power live

MC Jock Scot and Y Niwl live.

Plus Born Bad DJs and BSP DJs.

Be sure to take this opportunity to see them as they are taking a much-deserved break from touring. Tickets are £12.50 for advance booking – or super-keen fans of which BSP have many can get a season ticket for £60. Go here to buy.

A limited-edition CD of new and experimental material will be available on the nights.
